Description
I stopped off at Winter Haven, Florida's South Lake Howard Water Reclamation Park on October 15, 2013 and captured this image of a small (3 foot) American Alligator just floating in the water. The sun was working just right for me to capture some of the details under the water and capture some eyeball reflection at the same time.

scary, i love it :-)
Christopher Mercer replied:
Thank you, but it was only a little four or five footer. Definitely not a threat as long as I stayed on the walking bridge above him. I was out of it's element and stayed that way.

Great close up of this guy, my guess is he's looking for an afternoon snack! V
Christopher Mercer replied:
He had been angling towards a duck but the duck kept angling away. Thank you for the kind words and V.

Scarey, hope you didnīt have to get to close. Great work, tweeted x
Christopher Mercer replied:
It was only a little three or four footer, but I still used a little telephoto for the shot. Thanks for the tweet.
